High Commissioner, Dr. Mohammad Faisal visited Birmingham to attend important community events



The High Commissioner of Pakistan to the United Kingdom, Dr. Mohammad Faisal visited Birmingham on 31 August, 2024 and attended the Annual Independence Day Event hosted by British Pakistan Initiative at the iconic Edgbaston Cricket Stadium.



The British Pakistan Initiative aims at enhancing trade, culture, tourism and various other areas of cooperation between Pakistan and the UK. The event was also attended by Lord Mayor of Birmingham Councillor Ken Wood, Lord Lieutenant Dr. Anderson, Mr. Richard Barlow from FCDO, a large number of Mayors and Councillors, British - Pakistani businessmen, officials of the Pakistan Consulate and prominent community members.



The High Commissioner, during his remarks, expressed immense pleasure on becoming a part of the Independence Day festivities in Birmingham and acknowledged the hard work, dedication and passion of British Pakistanis in enhancing the multifaceted relations between Pakistan and the UK.



During his visit, the High Commissioner also attended the 5th Annual Convention organized by Association of Pakistani Physicians of Northern Europe (APPNE).  The High Commissioner during his interaction with the participants of the Convention appreciated the efforts of APPNE in becoming a voice of the doctors in the UK and expressed readiness to provide support for endeavours of APPNE aimed at promoting healthcare in Pakistan and the welfare of Pakistani origin doctors in the UK.
