Education Affairs

The Education Wing, London was closed from 30th June, 2014 vide Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination letter No. Dy. No.20/2011-DEA dated 8th February, 2014 and the Honourable High Commissioner, High Commission for Pakistan, London nominated Counsellor ( Consular Affairs) who is looking after the work of education.

Responsibilities Of Education Department, London
  • All Education correspondence between Ministry of IPC, Government of Pakistan and UK Government.
  • Responsible for the welfare and guidance of all Pakistani students coming to UK for education.
  • Processing of Scholarship to the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Scholars under different Ph.D Programmes as details below: -
    • Overseas Scholarship Scheme (OSS).
    • Post Doctoral Fellowship Scheme (PDF).
    • International Research Support initiatives Programme and Partial Support (IRSIP).
    • Provision of Higher Education opportunities for the Students of Balochistan and FATA.
  • Processing of Scholarship to National University of Sciences & technology (NUST Scholars).
  • Liaison with British Education Institutions and develop cordial functional relationship.
  • To conduct Exams of students at Pakistan High Commission UK, for Pakistani Educational Institutions / Universities in accordance with the existing rules. In this context, the Education Division has conducted examinations for BA, MA, LLB (University of the Punjab) and entry test of Lawrence College Ghora Gali.
  • Liaison with all British Educational Hostels to look after interests of all Pakistani students residing in UK.
  • Maintaining contacts with all known scholarship agencies in UK for better awareness / facilitation of Pakistani students.
  • Wherever possible assist / guide / help students in Education/ Administration / local adjustment issues during their tenure in UK.
  • To arrange seminars, lectures at various Educational Institutions / Societies with the cooperation of Pakistani Students Associations all over UK.
  • There are currently two chairs, Quaid-i-Azam and Allama Iqbal in the U.K. This Division establishes close contact with Pakistani / Chairs at Oxford and Cambridge with a view to assist in any and all possible manner and facilitatethe officers regarding their pay, hiring of accommodation, jobs extension, air passage, TA/DA renewal of passports and all other allied matters.
