Pakistan Navy Ship PNS Aslat arrives at HMNB Portsmouth


London:  The Pakistan Navy Ship PNS Aslat arrived at HMNB Portsmouth, UK today for a series of high-level engagements. Commodore Muhammad Faisal Abbasi, Commander 25th Destroyer Squadron is leading the ship.


H.E. Syed Ibne Abbas, Pakistan High Commissioner to the UK and Captain of the Naval Base Captain Bill Oliphant received the PNS Aslat at the Base.

The ship was greeted by a Royal Marines Band on the jetty.


HMNB Portsmouth is hosting this visit by the Pakistan Navy from 18 to 22 July.


The visit will foster good relations between Royal Navy and Pakistan Navy and build on mutual co-operation and support. It will also introduce the Pakistan Navy to Royal Navy training facilities.


Commodore Raja Rab Nawaz, Defence and Naval Adviser at the High Commission along with other officers was present at the ceremony.


The arrival ceremony was covered by regional and UK-based Pakistani media.

A large number of Pakistani community who have already registered via Pakistan High Commission's website, will be visiting the ship on 21 and 22 July 2018.
