London: In pursuance of the Prime Minister’s direction to facilitate the Pakistani community members, the High Commissioner has decided to keep the High Commission open on every second Saturday of each month from 1000-1600 hrs.
This arrangement will also apply to the Consulates in Bradford, Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow. The measure has been taken to facilitate all those members of the Pakistani expatriate community who cannot visit the High Commission or Consulates for consular services during the week days.
The weekend consular services will only include NADRA services, visa and attestation. It may be noted that Machine Readable Passport (MRP), facility will not be available as MRP data is transmitted in real time to MRP HQ in Pakistan, which is closed over the weekend.
All the weekend applicants will be served with a prior appointment on a first come first served basis. Appointments may be made with the High Commission & the Consulates over the respective telephones. Every appointment will be serialized and notified to the applicant.
It may be noted that only for the month of November 2014, weekend consular services will be provided on the third Saturday, i.e. 22 November, 2014.
The above service is part of an overall effort to improve the consular services and community facilitation. The High Commission and its Consulates, however, will continue to facilitate emergency cases over weekends and the public holidays.
